VOA’s Sonny Young and Muqbil Yabarow focus on the final Group H fixture between Ghana’s Black Stars and Uruguay’s La Celeste, which witnessed the South Americans defeating the West Africans 2-0.

Football analysts say this game was important to fans of the West African nation as they hoped that the Black Stars would avenge a 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals loss to the South Americans which resulted from striker Luis Suárez stopping an almost certain Ghanaian goal in the dying minutes with a handball.

Despite their victory, Uruguay’s La Celeste still witnessed an early exit of the global football tournament after securing an equal four points with second-placed South Korea but scored less goals.
