This World Food Day lecture discussed the role that policy, institutional and regulatory frameworks can play in achieving the objectives established by FAO Members in support of the 2030 Agenda.

It also sought to illustrate how properly designed laws can serve as drivers or accelerators for sustainable agri-food systems. Key speakers of the event included welcome messages by FAO Director General Qu Dongyu and Independent Chairperson of the FAO Counsel Hans Hoogeveen, a lecture by FAO Legal Counsel Donata Rugarabamu and closing remarks by Marsha Echols of the Food Law Institute.
